Canadian Arts Jobs – 08/14/12

August 14, 2012 in Jobs by Desirée Ossandon

Hello!

I’m regularly asked by CAC readers “how to get started” in one area of the arts or another, whether it be related to education, career, techniques, or other aspects of art.

One specific question I hear is how to start an art collection.

I’m asked if people should buy art because of the value of the piece or fame of the artist. I’m asked it people should start with small pieces, then move on to more daring examples. I’m asked for any advice on how to make smart purchases and good investments.

I’m curious how our community of artistic professionals (and art enthusiasts) began their own collections.

How did you start your own art collection?

How do you decide what you yourself buy and display?

Have a wonderful day!

Desirée

Canadian Arts Jobs – 08/10/12

August 10, 2012 in Jobs by Desirée Ossandon

Hello!

Yesterday I mentioned an old co-worker of mine who couldn’t understand why I would read a book multiple times. When I tried to explain, I compared it with re-watching favourite movies, which he couldn’t understand either.

I asked what books you re-read, but today I’d love to know…

What movies do you watch over and over again?

It would be great to see your answers in the comments below. But first, be sure to check out the awesome list of job opportunities I have for you today.

Have a wonderful day!

Hello!

I’ve decided to do something a little different with the list today. We like to take our members suggestions into consideration (we’ve had plenty of ideas discussed about the best way to arrange the lists) and it’s always nice to switch things up every once in a while just to have something new & fresh, so I’ve split the jobs up into each province.

Do you prefer it this way? The old way? Be sure to let me know in the comments below!

I’ve also tracked down a few more websites to collect jobs from (which is awesome!), but we’re always looking for more to offer you as many opportunities as possible, so if you know of any others, please let us know in the comments section below.

Have a wonderful day!

Desirée

Hello!

Monday is a great time to check out what’s coming up on your schedule to see if there’s any deadlines to consider. It’s also a good time to think about how you ensure you’re going to meet those deadlines. What are your tips for keeping on schedule and hitting your deadline?

The best way to handle a tight deadline is to _______________?

I’d love to hear your answer in the comments below and perhaps you’ll pick up some good tips from our other members/readers.

Have a wonderful day!
