Theatre Alberta is a provincial arts service organization and registered charity that supports and promotes the Albertan theatre community. We work to engage and foster meaningful relationships and partnerships between the professional, emerging, amateur and educational theatre communities.

We are also a member-service organization that proudly represents more than 1,000 individual and group members from across Alberta. Theatre Alberta members include some of the most active, prominent and innovative theatre makers, educators and enthusiasts in our province. We represent nearly every theatre company and post-secondary theatre training institution in Alberta.

Theatre Alberta offers a wide variety of programs and services. The Theatre Alberta Library is Canada’s largest independent, fully-circulating theatre library. We have more than 18,500 titles of playscripts, musicals, periodicals, and reference materials. While our collection is physically located in Edmonton, we will mail titles to our out-of-town members free-of-charge!

Artstrek is Theatre Alberta’s flagship educational program: a summer theatre school for teens (ages 13-18) that will celebrate its 54th anniversary this summer! During a week in residence at Red Deer College, students discover acting, voice, movement, directing, sound/music, design, creation and collaboration in a supportive and creative environment.

Happy 5th Anniversary

March marks the 5th anniversary of Canada Arts Connect! Woo!

Although we’re a little too busy to have a party to celebrate this year (perhaps next year or for our 10th we’ll throw a big bash!), I would still like to thank each and every one of you that has supported CAC along the way! It has been a tough road, but we’ve come so very far in our first five years and I’m incredibly excited about what’s ahead.

To those of you who have been with me since the beginning and to those who have just discovered us, THANK YOU from the entire Canada Arts Connect team!

If you’d like to find out more about how Canada Arts Connect started, be sure to check out The Story of Canada Arts Connect that I’ve recently popped up here.

As always, it has been and continues to be wonderful to connect with you!
