When the X-Files ended in 2002, many were hoping to see Gillian Anderson embark on another science-fiction project. Now she is, but it won’t be a television series she’s tackling. Instead she’s co-writing a new sci-fi book series.
“After nine years of living in a semi-science-fictional universe, I think I now have an ingrained knowledge and rhythm for it.” – Gillian Anderson
The series, released by the new Simon & Schuster imprint Simon451, will be called EarthEnd Saga with the first novel entitled A Vision of Fire.
A Vision of Fire centers on a globe-trotting child psychiatrist named Caitlin O’Hara who treats kids traumatized by war and natural disaster. But her skills and safety are tested when she meets a troubled young girl whose behaviour is connected with greater, possibly destructive, forces in the universe. [CBC Books]
The first book will be released in October with Simon451’s inaugural list of titles.
