The story of Milli Vanilli‘s lip-syncing fiasco may still be one of the music industry’s most cringe-worthy moments. Apparently this makes it the perfect drama to inspire a new Brooklyn opera.
For the composer Joe Diebes, the poet Christian Hawkey and the director David Levine, this is a story brimming with operatic potential. They are about to learn whether listeners agree when “Wow,” their Milli Vanilli opera — a work in progress — has its first public performances … [NY Times]
