Salary: $23,296 per annum at 21 hours/week

The Satellite Video Exchange Society (VIVO Media Arts Centre) seeks a self-directed, motivated individual for the position of Fundraising + Development Coordinator. This is a part-time position created to lead the organization in the further development and implementation of our fundraising strategies and tools. This position has a two-fold responsibility: to build the fundraising infrastructure necessary for successful fundraising campaigns, and to lead SVES fundraising activities.  The Fundraising and Development Coordinator is responsible for conducting the day-to-day operational management and implementation of all activities pertaining to fund development and fundraising.

Responsibilities

With the assistance of the SVES Fundraising Committee, key responsibilities of the Fundraising and Development Coordinator are:

• Draft, review and finalize a detailed fundraising strategy with both immediate and long-term goals that will support the programs and activities of SVES.
• Develop an annual fundraising plan and budget. Develop revenue and expense reports for all fundraising activities.
• Develop, plan and execute at least two fundraising events/projects and assist in developing an annual membership drive campaign.
• Develop a capital campaign and assist with the SVES social purpose real estate acquisition plan.
• Build, track and maintain relationships with current and potential donors and supporters, including alumni, community groups, foundations, and businesses.
• Generate new ideas and opportunities to increase fundraising and fund development in order to meet and exceed revenue goals. A reasonable quota will be established by the Fundraising Committee and Management Collective that must be met.
• Initiate, plan and implement all necessary activities in a timely manner to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished.
• Monitor, track and document activities and complete all reporting requirements in a timely manner.
• Represent SVES at community meetings, outreach events and other similar community settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in fundraising for non-profit organizations.
• Minimum 2 years successful grant writing experience.
• Previous experience in community-based, membership-driven non-profits is essential.  Direct experience with artist-run centres a strong asset.
• Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, or public relations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively, especially within the context of a management collective.
• Experience working in deadline driven environments.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets as well as experience with relational database software and internet skills.
• Salesforce.com experience an asset.
