August 6, 2010 in Call for Submissions, Featured by admin
Arts Etobicoke & Lakeshore Arts are looking to employ artists / artist educators to facilitate community arts projects for Year 3 of our initiative Art on the Move.
ART ON THE MOVE (www.artonthemove.ca) connects vehicle owners (private, public and not-for-profit sectors) with artists and community groups to design original art for vehicle exteriors, turning them into mobile works of art. This is an ongoing initiative that will enliven communities, bringing art into the daily lives of all those who come into contact with “Art on the Move”.
We are hiring artists for several individual projects including projects that work with youth, at-risk youth and seniors with mental health issues. Artists will conduct up to 8 workshop sessions meeting with the selected community group one day per week, and will complete the final design for the vehicle within a three-month period. Projects will be scheduled during the fall, winter and spring of 2010/11.
The selected artists will work under the guidance of the Project Coordinator. The visual concept will be developed in consultation with the vehicle owner and the project directors.
Media may include painting, drawing, collage, and photography. The final design for the vehicle will be completed in Photoshop or Illustrator by the artist.
